Every customer is kept in a VLAN with L3 Switch in the backend. This reduces trivial network vulnerabilities and provides significant protection against traditional network security issues such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks, Man in the Middle (MITM) Attacks, IP Spoofing, Port Scanning and Packet sniffing by other tenants. Security is provided on multiple levels: the operating system (OS) of the host, the virtual instance OS or guest OS and firewall. An IDS connected in parallel to the router which continuously monitors traffic and blocks known threats such as application and network virus(es). It also helps detect and eliminate possible DDoS attacks.
Block Storage provides raw block-level storage that can be attached to Virtual Cloud Server instances. These block devices can then be used like any raw block device. In a typical use case, this would include formatting the device with a filesystem and mounting said filesystem. In addition, EBS supports a number of advanced storage features, including snapshot and cloning. These snapshots can be used as the starting point for new volume's or new instances, and can protect your data for long term durability. Virtual Cloud Servers provide two volume types to best meet the needs of your workloads: Standard Volume (SSD), HIGH IOPS (SSD). Standard volumes are backed by solid-state drives (SSDs) and are suitable for a broad range of transactional workloads, including dev/test environments, low-latency interactive applications, and boot volumes. Volumes are capable of providing baseline performance of 3 IOPS/GB to upto 25,000 IOPS/GB depending upon the type of Volume and/or Instance. Virtual Cloud Server block storage also offers seamless encryption of data volumes, boot volumes and snapshots, eliminating the need to build and manage a secure key management infrastructure. Auto Scaling helps you maintain application availability and allows you to automatically scale your resource capacity up or down according to predefined conditions triggered from alarms set to monitor your resources. With Auto Scaling, you can ensure that the number of instances you are using scales up seamlessly during demand spikes to maintain performance and scales down automatically during demand lulls to minimize costs. Auto Scaling is particularly well suited for applications that experience hourly, daily or weekly variability in usage. Virtual Cloud Server auto scaling is based on OpenStack Heat orchestration program and is compatible with B formatted Templates and supports YAML based Templates. Virtual Cloud Server templates are well integrated with Chef and Puppet for further automations. Load Balancing automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple instances. It enables you to achieve even greater fault tolerance in your applications, seamlessly providing the amount of load balancing capacity needed in response to incoming application traffic. Elastic Load Balancing detects unhealthy instances within a pool and automatically reroutes traffic to healthy instances until the unhealthy instances have been restored.
